On Saturday, August 16, in the Church of San Francisco in the city of Río Cuarto (Argentina), the 25th anniversary of the consecration of Sr. Karina Gambero, religious of the Congregation of Sisters of Our Lady of Consolation.
The Eucharist was a true moment of communion with the whole Church and with the Congregation. In the homily, the journey of faith of Sr. Karina, who started in the parish community of Santa Teresita, was supported by the prayer of her grandmother and grew up in the warmth of so many faces, gestures and people who marked her life. An itinerary impregnated with a particular aroma: the consolation, a gift that she herself has received and that she shares today in her daily dedication, in the style of St. Maria Rosa Molas and of so many Sisters of Consolation.
The motto chosen by Sr. Karina for this celebration expresses it clearly: "Sustained by the gratuitous love of the Lord" (Const. 120), recalling that every vocation is born and sustained by the love of God.
The celebration was attended by family and friends, as well as sisters from different communities. There was no lack of her closest companions on the way: the residents of the Small Cottolengo, where Sr. Karina serves with generosity and tenderness. Her mother, touched, had the endearing gesture of accompanying her in the presentation of the offerings.
The signs offered in the liturgy collected milestones of his personal and vocational history:
-
A butterfly, symbol of transformation, renewal and human fragility.
-
A lighted lamp, a sign of God's fidelity that sustains self-giving in the consecrated life.
-
A bit of clay, evoking trust in the Potter who shapes existence to make it a carrier of love and consolation.
-
The bread and the wine, expression of the renewed dedication to Jesus, source of every vocation.
The celebration was presided over by the simple joy of feeling part of a big family and was also attended by M. Valeria Vernal, superior of the l province, who accompanied this special day with affection and gratitude.
In a climate of thanksgiving, the community celebrated the gift of life and vocation of Sr. Karina, renewing the call to be consolation in the midst of the world and to always be sustained by the gratuitous love of the Lord .
