As part of the closing celebration of the jubilee of the 25th anniversary of the presence of the Sisters of Our Lady of Consolation in Togo, the community of Atakpamé organized a week of activities.

Thus, on Sunday, June 2, we organized a community fair to publicize the charism of the sisters and share the joy of Consolation with parishioners and other religious denominations.

On June 11, the sisters of the two communities of Togo (Atakpamé and Lomé) visited the sick of the Basic Catholic Christian Communities (CCCB) Santa Maria Rosa Molas and Our Lady of Consolation in the company of a representative of each of the two CCCB. We went to the homes of the patients they had been tasked with identifying. We visited 13 families bringing them the basic necessities kits we had prepared and the joy of comfort because they were very happy with our visit. Some were even moved to tears.

On June 12, at St. John Paul II Parish, the conference on the theme: “Taking care of life” took place. The conference was given by Father Hubert Dadale, administrator of St Homo Bono Parish, in his presentation he tried to say why to console, how to console...

"Taking care of life" is a call that expresses the delicacy of the heart and actions, it is a permanent concern. Caring is at the heart of Christianity because God is the first one who cares about us and calls us “to go and do the same" (Luke 15,). In a world where indifference grows, where love is replaced by utility, the culture of care is presented as the alternative that will save humanity.

This conference was attended by sisters from the communities of Burkina and Lomé, some priests from the diocese and several parishioners. We were happy with the presence of the faithful because they came out in large numbers, it was in an atmosphere of joy that we said goodbye.
