Apostolic experience of the Sisters Doris Romero and Luz Patricia Méndez during the formation course "Avanzamos"

We make grateful remembrance to the God who does not abandon the work of his hands and gives us food in due time. Since we started the path of “We Advance", we have experienced the living presence of a God who surprises, who invites us to return to the sources, to look at the path traveled and to advance towards the present from a profound encounter with Him. A God who, with tenderness and love, puts his eyes on each one and renews his call, pronouncing our names again.

With joy we share the apostolic experience that we have lived for fifteen days in the community of the Our Lady of Consolation College of San Juan, Argentina. We are the sisters Doris María Romero (María Rosa Molas Province - Ecuador) and Luz Patricia Méndez (Los Andes Province), participants of the formation course for sisters of perpetual vows “Avanzamos”.

The community that welcomed us — made up of Sisters Adriana Zurita (animator), Jaqueline Quadri, Vanina Petrella and Mónica María Vallejo — opened the doors of their home, their heart and their mission to us. With them we shared fraternal life, prayer, pastoral work, moments of expansion and endless experiences that enriched us humanly and spiritually.

They were intense days, full of love, joy, openness, trust and hope. From the first moment, when we arrived at the terminal, we felt at home. We lived endearing encounters with the educational community, the students, teachers, parishioners and all the people who walk together with our sisters in this beautiful mission.

Every moment was an occasion of grace and manifestation of God's love. We share dreams, challenges, joys, hopes... and also the concerns of the missionary journey. Everything was an opportunity to grow, to listen, to be touched by concrete reality and, above all, to let ourselves be transformed by the passage of God in our midst.

As St. Paul says: "All this comes from God” (2 Cor 5:18). And with a full heart, we can only say THANK you! Thank you, sisters of the community of St. John, for your warm and simple welcome, for so much shared life, for allowing us to be part of your journey.

Saying thank you is like giving a flower... and the beauty of a flower springs from its roots.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
