The young professed sisters of West Africa gathered in the community of Dédougou from 28 to 31 July for their annual session. The general theme was: ‘Following in the footsteps of Maria Rosa Molas and our first sisters, let us deploy the relational power of charism’.
On the first day, with our formators, we worked on the testimonies of some sisters about the life of Mother and her relationship with her sisters. This led us to re-examine our lives in the light of her testimonies and to listen to Mother address a few words to us.
On the second day, we had a discussion with Father Stanislas BALO, a diocesan priest, on the theme: ‘Synodality: intelligibility and involvement.’ This helped us understand the importance of walking together. We also understood that it is based on three pillars: communion, participation and mission.
On the third day, we had a talk on accompaniment with Father Alphonse Yonli, a Discalced Carmelite. During this talk, we saw the need to be accompanied, to be open and trusting so that our companions can walk with us. We were joined online on the 29th and 30th by Sisters Arsénia and Amarália from Mozambique.
On the last day, we visited the Tionkuy Farm in the morning and then did an evaluation.
We give thanks to God for this time of formation that he offers us each year. May his grace continue to accompany us in our various missions.
