We invite you to participate in the Eucharist of Thanksgiving for our Sister Ceferina del Valle Bordón, who today, 11 September 2025, has left us and is now rejoicing in heaven with the Lord and all the saints.
The Eucharist will take place at the Mother House, Jesús, Tortosa. At 20:00h
She leaves us as a young sister, still capable of giving so much for the Kingdom. However, the Lord has wanted to open the doors of Life for her, because she was already prepared. The illness surprised her this summer, leaving little time or possibility to do much. Like a great fighter, she tried and placed herself in the hands of her Lord. Conscious of everything she was living and the process of her illness, she never stopped repeating, “everything has been surrendered.” During her short illness, she was an example for all who were with her: sisters, hospital staff, and friends... At all times, she transmitted peace to those by her side, worrying more about those who cared for her than about herself, as if she were the caregiver. She consoled with her words, her acceptance, her faith. She assured us she had been very happy, despite the difficulties that life can entail, and she repeated: “I have been very happy, I want you to know, always from a young age until today. I want to tell all the people with whom I have shared, in family and later in the Congregation where I have been, that 'I love you very much.'”
We have lost a saintly sister, without a doubt, because holiness and the response of faith in situations like this are not improvised. A sister who left her homeland, Argentina, and gave herself as a missionary in Bolivia and Chile. And in these last 18 years in Slovakia, where she was an instrument of mercy and Consolation, another Slovak among the sisters and the people, even becoming a naturalized citizen there. In these lands, she studied and served the poorest with affection, dedication, and without rest.
She developed her mission as a Sister of Consolation: in Buenos Aires,Tucuman and Villa Allende (Argentina), where she studied; in the home in Sucre (Bolivia), in Parral (Chile), in Nitra and Zilina (Slovakia), Linares (Spain), and most recently in the community of Nitra, from where she traveled to Bratislava.
She gave everything, having it clear that she did it “for the glory of God and the good of our brothers and sisters, nothing for ourselves.” In Zilina, at the women's shelter, at Caritas, with the refugees, walking the streets of the city to serve and accompany the homeless in Bratislava, where she traveled every day from Nitra to accompany those who were trying to get out of their situation of need, selling the magazine Nota Bene (Good News).
As a good daughter of Saint María Rosa Molas, the poorest were the “apple of her eye.”
We thank God for the life of Valle, for her example, her testimony, her unconditional dedication as a Sister of Consolation to the neediest, to the sisters, to her family, and to all who shared her path in this life.
We can paraphrase the lyrics of the song “The Last Door” by Cristóbal Fones, which she herself had very much in mind during this time:
To die is to prepare the last celebration. We remember Valle And knowing that she is heading to your embrace No other song remains for us but silence. Perhaps her absence now invades us, Our eyes shine when we evoke her gestures, Gratitude and nostalgia dance For all that she once gave us. We cry, because that's how those who love yearn, Because death, that mystery, hurts That opens the path to another life for us While this cycle of time closes... And upon crossing that threshold, she will discover That you were already waiting for her, That life was the portico of heaven. We will sing again, and forever With her who today leaves us her memory.
UNTIL HEAVEN VALLE!
