From July 1 to 5, 2025, a formative meeting aimed at the administrative teams of the different demarcations of the Congregation of Sisters of Our Lady of Consolation was held at the Mother House of Jesus – Tortosa. This initiative, convened by the General Government, has brought together sisters representing different countries, in a space of reflection, learning and communion.

The meeting was prepared and facilitated by Tania López, general counsel, and Begoña Escrihuela, general bursar, also with the virtual participation of Aurelia Maeme, general counsel. During the days of formation, the necessary tools were deepened to strengthen an administration inspired by the principles of the Gospel and faithful to the charism of the Congregation.

Objectives of the meeting

The main objectives of the program were:

  • Strengthen the sisters' formation in the administrative field.
  • Strengthen teamwork, highlighting the importance of the 5 Cs: coordination, cooperation, communication, commitment and trust.

Shared principles and values

The training addressed key contents such as the four principles of the Church's Social Doctrine:

  • The common good
  • The human person
  • Solidarity
  • Subsidiarity

He also delved into the matrix of the Economy of the Common Good, which he proposes as axes:

  1. Transparency and participation
  2. Dignity of the person
  3. Environmental sustainability
  4. Solidarity and justice

An administration with an evangelical spirit

Throughout the meeting it was recalled that administration in religious life is not only a technical matter, but an expression of the charism and the mission. As stated in the Code of Administration of the Congregation's Assets, justice, evangelical poverty and charity should guide all administrative decisions:

  • Prioritize the needs of the sisters, the apostolic works and their development.
  • Living with sobriety and austerity, avoiding the superfluous.
  • Sharing with gratuitousness and solidarity, especially with those who have less.
  • Offer workers a fair, dignified and respectful treatment.

An example of Santa María Rosa Molas

The Congregation continues to be inspired by the testimony of its founder, St. Maria Rosa Molas, who attached great importance to a careful administration oriented to the common good, as a concrete way to console and serve with hope.

This meeting was an opportunity to renew the commitment to manage goods with responsibility, generosity and fidelity to the Gospel, thus contributing to a more just, supportive and sustainable mission.
