On Saturday, September 6, the Diocesan Youth Day (JDJ) was celebrated at the premises of the Republic of Panama School of Commerce in the city of Concepción, Tucuman, Argentina. Under the motto “Pilgrims of Hope", more than 800 young people from different localities and parish groups gathered to live a day of encounter, prayer and shared joy.

This year the WYD had a very special tinge, as it was framed in the Diocesan Jubilee of Youth, which permeated the whole day with a festive atmosphere and deep gratitude.

Among the participants were present members of the Consolation Family, sisters and young people of the Consolation for the World Movement (MCM). With enthusiasm and creativity, they accompanied the day and encouraged one of the workshops, by Nahuel Altamirano, a young person from the MCM.

The WYDS were born in 2013, inspired by the spirit that Pope Francis sowed in young people after World Youth Day in Rio de Janeiro. Since then, this space has sought to accompany diocesan youth on their journey of faith, proposing each year a motto to reflect on the time before, during the day and in its projection towards the future.

The meeting included moments of reflection, dynamics in groups, the celebration of the Holy Mass presided by the Bishop together with the clergy and religious congregations, and one of the most significant moments: the Eucharistic Adoration, where each young person could personally meet Jesus, his friend.

The experience concluded with a pilgrimage and the missionary sending, a gesture that sealed the commitment of the young people to return to their communities being true pilgrims of hope and joy of the Gospel .
