Message of His Holiness Pope Francis for the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation 2024
"Hope and Act with Creation"
In the message on the occasion of the next World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, to be celebrated on September 1st, Pope Francis invites us to join forces and to walk together, maintaining hope in the midst of adversities and contributing to “rethinking among all the question of human power, its meaning and its limits”.
Under the motto "Hope and Act with Creation" (in reference to St. Paul's Letter to the Romans 8:19-25), Pope Francis advocates to extend harmony between human beings and also with creation, making us responsible for a human and integral ecology as the way of salvation of our common home and of all of us who live in it.
All relationships must be reoriented: with God, with oneself, with others and with the environment. If one is missing, everything fails. For this reason, the Holy Spirit calls us to the conversion of our lifestyle, moving from the arrogance of wanting to dominate others and nature, to the humility of those who take care of others and creation.
