Pope Francis' Message for the Migrant and Refugee World Youth Day 2024
Pope Francis invites us to be "hope” and "consolation” for migrants
Pope Francis has made public his message for the World Day of Migrants and Refugees 2024 that will take place on September 29. Under the title "God walks with his people", the Holy Father emphasizes the synodal character of the Church and recalls the migratory nature of the Christian people throughout history, from the journey of the inhabitants of Israel to the promised land in search of freedom.
Making an analogy“ "it is possible to see in the migrants of our time, as in those of all ages, the living image of the people of God on the way to the eternal homeland”. The reasons for the exodus are diverse (armed conflicts, hunger, poverty, insecurity, oppression...). Whatever the cause, God accompanies the journey of all his children, “as a traveling companion, guide and anchor of salvation ”.
Pope Francis invites us on this Day to unite in prayer for migrants who have had to leave their land in search of dignified living conditions, to accompany them on the way, to be hope and comfort in moments of despair.
