SEVENTH WORLD DAY OF THE POOR
"Do not turn your face away from the poor.”
Poverty is before our eyes, in our reality. Following the motto of the General Chapter, taking care of life is, of course, to take care of our neighbor as ourselves. Turning our gaze to poverty means turning it also to the face of Jesus.
For this reason, Pope Francis encourages us to get involved in the first person. And he goes further, inviting us today to a concrete gesture, that of sharing Sunday lunch, after the symbol of community of the Eucharistic Table.
Today is also a day to thank the Lord for the men and women who live dedicated to the poor and the excluded, to their material and spiritual needs, and who share with them.
