From April 7 to April 14, our community in Yangon, Myanmar, had the joy of receiving a pastoral visit from our Superior General, Sr. Loreto Navarrete Candia, accompanied by Sr. Carmen Moreno Ruiz. It was a week of intensive and fruitful sharing that led us to a kind of spiritual “rebirth” in our daily relationship with Jesus. This experience strengthened our communication, encouraged fraternal dialogue, helped us face our real situation, and fostered openness and acceptance of one another. The encounter between Nicodemus and Jesus inspired all these.
They gave thanks to the Lord for being a source of Consolation in our land and encouraged us to remain instruments of mercy and consolation, especially for all those who are suffering.
We are profoundly grateful to the Lord for their presence, which brought us great consolation.
During this visit, we also had the opportunity to meet Msgr. Andrea Ferrante, Chargé d’Affaires, Papal Representative to Myanmar of the Vatican. We had a meaningful conversation about the situation of the country and explored how best to carry out our mission in these challenging times.
They also experienced our small mission here for the first time, including the graduation ceremony of the children from our ABC English Preschool, as well as our catechism classes with children in the parish.
We give thanks to the Lord for all that we have experienced, especially for His grace upon us, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude for the presence of the two sisters.
